Noun Quantifiers:  little and a little



The quantifiers little and a little have different meanings.

Little implies not at all, while a little implies some but not much.

  • I should watch as little television as possible.

  • I should get as little sleep as I can because I have a lot of studying to do.

  • I knew very little English when I arrived so I enrolled in an ESL class.
