Prepositions: End of Chapter Editing Exercises

The exercises below are based on earlier units in our "Sentence Structure" chapter.

Today's Grammar HELP! Handbook lesson provides you with exercises to test your understanding of our chapter, "Prepositions" and to challenge you to apply what you've learned.  It is primarily for beginners and lower-intermediate learners of English. This is not an audio lesson.

Editing Exercise 1


The sentences below are from students' writing and contain errors with prepositions.
  Locate the errors and rewrite each sentence correctly.  If the time reference is unclear, use what seems most appropriate from the context. Use appropriate punctuation. 


1.  My mother told me not to be afraid problems.

2.  Many college students work or take care their families after school.

3.  I agree John.

4.  These are some of the questions we ask to ourselves.

5.  This time, the doctors couldn't help to her.

6.  I think the quality of education depends of the teacher.

7.  He gave to Juan a piece of paper.

8.  Then the teacher handed out the test papers out.
