Prepositions: End of Chapter Editing Exercises

The exercises below are based on earlier units in our "Sentence Structure" chapter.

Today's Grammar HELP! Handbook lesson provides you with exercises to test your understanding of our chapter, "Prepositions" and to challenge you to apply what you've learned.  It is primarily for beginners and lower-intermediate learners of English. This is not an audio lesson.

Editing Exercise 2


The sentences below are from students' writing and contain errors with prepositions.  Locate the errors and rewrite each sentence correctly.  If the time reference is unclear, use what seems most appropriate from the context. Use appropriate punctuation. 


1. ... he must earn ...

2.  ... she could not find ...

3.  ...cannot be educated ...

4.  I was working and going to school at the same time.

5.  I have been living in the United States for three years.

6.  There are a lot of beautiful places ...

7.  ... a time to just have fun.

8.  I took ... classes two days a week for one year.
