Warm-up 1

For the following sentences,determine which word is the subject and which is the verb.  Place the subject in the subject position, and the verb in the verb position.

Each of the following simple sentences follows the pattern S-V-O. For each sentence, identify the object of the verb.

5.  Samantha wrote a letter to ....

6. Watching so much TV has hurt my eyes.

WHERE'S THE ERROR?

1.  I like to take walks when it is not cold out.

(There was no subject in the dependent clause. The subject needed to be inserted.)

2.  The young boy, he didn't listen. -->  The young boy didn't listen. 

(English doesn't allow for the double subject noun and pronoun.  The pronoun needed to be removed.)

3.  This is my opinion.

(There was no main verb.  The main verb needed to be inserted.)  (There was no main verb.)
