Nouns and  Noun Clauses

What Is a Noun Clause?


Each of the following sentences contains a noun clause that required editing.   Watch for correct word order, verb tense and punctuation.

1.  Growing up in Venezuela, I heard people talk about how important was clean water.

2.  I couldn't have imagined how challenging would it be to live in a new environment.

3.  I was told how dangerous is smoking for my health.

4.  I know how life is hard.

5.  Sometimes you wonder why some people do such awful things?

6.  I used to think that my vote doesn't change the outcome of the election.

7.  I never told her about my problems because I knew she will never help me.

8. Frederick Douglass believed that only an education can make him a real human being who can control his own life.
